• Coral adds cheeriness and warmth to any space. Ballard Designs has named it one of “This Summer’s Hottest Colors." The European inspired home furnishings retail company has highlighted coral in many of its furnishings and accessories. The beautiful versatile color is a blend of pink, red and orange and pairs well with other colors.

It also mixes well with different styles of furniture. It will infuse a little merriment into traditional style and a little warmth into modern or transitional styles. In a traditional dining room, you could hang some long panels in a sunny coral color and instantly bring some life into the space. The color blends beautifully with the rich wood tones of traditional furniture.

You don’t have to mix coral with only neutrals. You could mix it lots of different colors depending on your own taste. Some like it mixed with bold colors like a bright turquoise, while others like to balance it with a deep rich tone. Whatever your preference, this vibrant color is sure to bring a sense of exuberance to any room.

Coral also works well outside as you can tell from the outdoor furniture from Frontgage below. This coral tone is a littler warmer on the color spectrum if you aren’t comfortable with a brighter shade. The color has so many different shades to choose from.

Bedding is another way to try out the color. You can mix and match with other colors like using white sheets with a bright coral spread, or pick a print with coral in it.

Try sampling the color with a few accessories like a bowl, a rug, a throw, pillows, or a small end table. Even lighting can incorporate the fun summer color in a lampshade or in the actual lamp itself. You’ll be surprised at how well coral blends with other colors.

Currently, we are working on a project for a client’s sunroom. We are using coral in an accent chair and pillows. See the beautiful fabric we picked below. Stay tuned for the finished room!
